Ministry of Transport, Building and Regional Development Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Ministry of Transport, Building and Regional Development Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

The Department of Regional Development in the Ministry for Transport, Planning and Regional Development Mecklenburg-Vorpommern was a driving force for developing the marina network in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in the last two decades. Whereas the Ministry of Economics provided and designed related funding schemes, it contributed the planning perspective. Key strategy was the “Concept for the development of the harbour network for pleasure boats at the sea coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern”, which served as a reference framework for marina development and funding decisions. Within MARRIAGE, the Department of Regional Development will share its experience and knowledge on strategic development of the marina network to interested partners in Poland and Lithuania, with special focus on positive / negative lessons learnt from developing a complementary network of small guest-only marinas / boater stops (“Wasserwanderrastplätze”) in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Component 5).
